Up Next: The Irish Tenors

On Friday, August 22 at 7:30 p.m., the Nashua Symphony Orchestra will appear with the The Irish Tenors at Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion in Gilford, NH.

The Irish Tenors are a trio of vocalists consisting of Anthony Kearns, Finbar Wright, and Karl Scully. Currently, the group has released nine albums with tracks spanning from "Amazing Grace" to "South of the Border (Down Mexico Way)" to more traditional Irish songs such as "My Wild Irish Rose." The tenors also have had wildly popular specials and concerts on PBS including The Irish Tenors: Ellis Island, which was named one of Billboard's Top 10 "Best of" for 2001. They are currently the second highest selling touring Irish group - second only to U2.

"Schubertiade"
Our last Summer Sing is August 25th

The Nashua Symphony Chorus invites all interested individuals to participate in their popular Monday evening "Summer Sings" in the air-conditioned comfort of the First Church of Christ, Scientist at 115 Concord Street, Nashua.

For the final sing of the summer, conductor Josh Nannestad will lead a reading of Schubert's Mass in G Major, accompanied by pianist Robert Humphreville. With the Nashua Symphony Chorus scheduled to perform this work in November, this is a great way to get to know the piece (and think about auditioning for the NSC!).

Summer Sings are held from 7:00 - 9:00 PM and a $7.00 per person fee is charged per night (exact change will be appreciated). Scores will be provided, but singers are encouraged to bring their own if they have them. For further information, please contact Kathy Andrle at (603) 889-5744 or kandrle@comcast.net.

In Memoriam

All of us at the Nashua Symphony Association were saddened to learn of the loss of Virginia Reynolds, 52, of Nashua. For six years (2000-2006), Virginia served on the NSA Board of Trustees, for several years as Vice President. During that time she chaired the Board's Community Outreach Committee and was active in the development of a strategic plan.

Virginia joined the Nashua Symphony Chorus in 1985 and served on its advisory board in several capacities, including a term as President. She became a member of the Nashua Choral Ensemble in 2001 and she will always be remembered as an extremely successful individual in both her personal and professional endeavors.
- Cam McGurk, President, Board of Trustees
