In the news
Friends of the Nashua Symphony keep on giving. On June 3, the Friends of the Nashua Symphony hosted their inaugural "Edwardian Garden Party" to have fun and raise money for the NSA. The event most certainly was a lot of fun - with food & beverages provided by the Friends, plus music and lawn games - and about 80 people attended. On June 25, the Friends presented the NSA with $2,000! Special thanks go to Judith Jones for organizing the event, and to Elizabeth and Richard Foemmel for opening up their home and garden to all the guests. And thanks to ALL the F.O.N.S. for their hard work and contributions during the 2007 | 08 season!
Symphony Chorus on the road! On Monday, May 12, Diane Cushing led the Nashua Symphony Chorus as they performed selections from Randall Thompson's Peaceable Kingdom at the NH Business Committee for the Arts’ annual award dinner. The NSC was selected to perform at the event because they represent a New Hampshire ensemble taking part in a national arts initiative: during 2007 and 2008, the chorus has been awarded two "American Masterpieces" grants - funded by the National Endowment for the Arts - through the NH State Council on the Arts' "NH Connections" grant program.
