Cellist Sergey Antonov
Russian cellist Sergey Antonov was described by the late master Mstislav Rostropovich as "a brilliant cellist." In 2007, at the age of 17, Sergey became one of the youngest cellists ever to take home the gold medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Don't miss his NSO debut playing the stunning folk-based concerto by his compatriot Shostakovich!

BAE sponsors "Bring a Veteran for FREE" program again this year
Freedom may not be free, but if you're a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, attending the symphony is.
For the fourth year in a row, the Nashua Symphony Association is partnering with BAE Systems for a special promotion designed to thank veterans for their service to the country. With BAE Systems's support, a limited number of tickets will be made available to veterans (and active-duty personnel) for the October 17 performance featuring the Nashua Symphony Orchestra.
For several years now, BAE Systems has supported a fall symphony concert in this way. "This is a great partnership," notes NSA Executive Director Eric Valliere, "because BAE Systems's focus on the "Uncommon Folk" in the military community means more people have access to this wonderful music." Call the NSA box office at 603.595.9156 for more information.

Make a "perfect pitch"!
For musicians, the words "pitch" and "tone" go together. But we hope you won't pitch your old toner cartridges in the trash! Not only is it bad for the environment, but it's a lost opportunity to donate to the Nashua Symphony Association. You see, Staples (the office supply store) will give us a $3 credit for EVERY TONER CARTRIDGE we bring them for recycling! It doesn't matter what kind of cartridge, how big or small, or what color ink - they will credit out account $3 for every one, and that helps us keep our costs down. So don't pitch that toner. Bring it by the NSA office or even to one of our concerts, and we'll make sure it gets to the right place. And thanks!

Your support matters!
Dear Friend,
Our 2009-10 subscription season - the second under Music Director Jonathan McPhee and my first as the NSA's Board President - will begin in just a couple of weeks. As we prepare for our opening night (and as we start a new fiscal year), I'm asking you to join me in supporting the NSA's programs with a generous gift.
The NSA has a robust core of subscribers and donors whose financial contributions enable us to thrive and grow even as the economy continues to present us with challenges. We simply could not do what we do without the help of so many friends like you, who make so much possible.
"Your symphony" has entered a new and exciting period in its venerable history, and
we'll need your support to make it happen. Please join me in supporting inspiring live music in our community by making a gift that is meaningful to you. I promise it will be meaningful to us.
Thank you,
Richard Foemmel
