Nashua Youth (h)EARS
Music Director Jonathan McPhee and four NSO instrumentalists visited Nashua's middle schools on Monday January 12. The presentations were part of a new outreach program called "Nashua Youth (h)EARS", which connects classical music to the 6th-grade curriculum through dynamic, live, interactive performances. After illustrating ways that Beethoven "remixed" the sounds of nature to create his sublime 6th Symphony, McPhee invited two groups of students on stage to organize their own sounds into music.
